Kim's Daily & Weekly House Cleaning Schedule

Daily Cleaning Chores

Now that school is in session, I have had to revamp my daily cleaning routine. I usually have to adjust this each year with our growing school day. So far, this is working well around our homeschool schedule.

6:30 - get up, get dressed, have a cup of coffee and do my daily Bible reading.
7:00 - Exercise
7:30 - Shower, dress for the day, put clothes in the washer
8:00 - Make and eat breakfast, make crock pot meal if having one.
8:45 - Daily Chores. Set the timer for 30 minutes, then STOP!
9:15 - Put clothes in dryer & set up school
9:30 - 12:00 - school
12:00 - lunch break
12:30 - fold, hang & put away laundry
1:00 - 3:00 - school
3:00 - clean up from school
3:10 - weekly chores. Set the timer for 30 minutes, then STOP!
3:40 zone work. Set the timer for 15 minutes, then STOP!
3:55 - put away cleaning supplies
4:00 - Play time
5:00 - Cook dinner
6:00 - Family dinner
6:30 - Clean kitchen
7:00 - Family time
7:45 - Family story time
8:05 - Family Bible study
8:25 - Prepare for tomorrow/Justin (my son) bath, teeth, prayers
9:00 - Justin, bed / Mom & Dad, relax:)
10:00 - Lights out!

My home is not 'spotless', but it is picked up and maintained. I have days when I don't feel like doing anything, so on those days I atleast do a quick pick up of  the house so I don't fall behind. I want my home to be clean but comfortable to live in for my family and for me to be able to actually sit and visit with my guests and not frantically running around cleaning up around them.

Kyle's Cleaning Method

I do FLY Lady. FLY means Finally Loving Yourself and we just love this site for practical cleaning methods that leave more time for the kids and our "Dear Husbands".

I have of course "tweaked" it to fit our lifestyle but this is a highly effective cleaning system for naturally messy people like myself. Fly lady uses a morning and evening routine to keep your house neat and tidy all week, followed by decluttering and concentrated weekly cleaning done in 15 minute increments! All the while she sends encouraging e-mails to keep you going!

My husband loves it so much he recommends it to other men for their wives. She has a book called sink reflections that I have not yet read but I am sure it is wonderful! All I know is now my house is usually clean and that has been a blessing!

My only warning is take it slow...do not rush in and try to master it in a day it will overwhelm you if you do that. However if you go a day at a time soon you'll be flying too!
